THE INTERVIEW

Performance, 2017

We joined the road leading up to the industrial estate much further down than we had expected. By then it was clear that the day would not live up to its early promise. The wind had picked up and it had been raining lightly but steadily even though there had been no warning of the rain on the weather forecast she was saying.

First performed at Apologies in Advance, Iklecktik Arts Lab, London, May 2017.

A lecture-performance structured around a series of questions posed to two female musicians about their collaboration. The oblique responses become an episodic series of recollections and reflections that address the spaces and relationships that sustain creative labour in the gentrifying city. The performance collages recorded and live sound, including readings.
